What Wes Moore was trying to tell the reader through the passage is that his father did not get proper care because of his appearance as said in the passage '' His face was unshaven , his clothes disheveled name unfamiliar''. All his father was trying to do was seek help but is getting judged based on appearance. You never know if the person is good just by looking on the outside just like the old saying '' Don't judge a book by its cover''
    At times i have experienced the same problem . Such as sports I am not the biggest, strongest, fastest so people may look pass me and judge base on my appearance but they don't see whats in the inside that shows nothing is impossible
